Great project manger’s know that planning is everything. That doesn’t mean that a plan has to be followed at all costs - updating them with new information when it arises, adapting to changing ideas and minding the budget are all important components of any project. But a plan gives a direction that everyone can follow.

Every project comes with unexpected difficulties, but falling in a heap when things get tough doesn’t help anyone. The Shopfit Co. team comes to every job with a positive mindset and the belief that any and every problem can be solved. We are always thinking 3 steps, 3 days, 3 weeks ahead to anticipate problems and come up with solutions.

Efficiency is key with a big project. That’s why we minimise time spent in meetings and maximise the time spent doing.

Our role as project manager is to keep everyone on the worksite happy and empower them to work efficiently. We do this by keeping open lines of communication and anticipating the needs of all people involved. Whether that’s direction, materials or payment, we are always one step ahead so that no one feels left behind or like they need to shout to be heard.

Like they always say, there’s no I in team. Big jobs can be overwhelming and it’s so important that everyone pulls their weight. That’s why we prioritize delegation when and where it’s needed. Taking on too much means some things fall to the wayside. So to ensure every aspect of the job gets the attention it deserves, we share the workload around.

Our work sites are always full of positive voices. Positivity gets us through tough situations, keeps us together as a team, and gets every job done well and on time.

Being solution oriented requires that you do not waste time playing the blame game but actually solving the problem at hand. Be positive and get things done.
